Sponsor a Dog

KAT's Rescue and Treatment Program has helped over 1,500 animals until June, 2008. Upon emergency calls from the community, sick, injured and distressed dogs are brought to the Centre where their medical problems are treated and they are sterilised. Many of them go back to the part of Kathmandu where they were found, but others may have a disability and can't adapt to street life again.

Welcome: Sango came with a badly broken leg and is the new member at KAT. We are looking for sponsorship until suitable home is found.

KAT shelters them until suitable homes are found. Some animals are adopted quickly and others, who may be a little harder to place, stay with KAT for longer.

This costs almost Nrs 150,000 (USD 2400) a year to KAT – the equivalent of sterilising and rabies vaccinating 100 other dogs. We need your help to enable us to continue to care for these dogs.

Bill also came with severe skin problem and a broken leg. Now it has fully recovered and is one of our in-house dog squad.

When you sponsor a dog, all donations will go directly for vets fees, medication, food, bedding, treats and anything else that may be needed to help these dogs.

You can sponsor a dog in memory of or in honor of someone. It's a wonderful way to remember a beloved person or pet. Sponsor-A-Dog is also an unusual and heartwarming gift for a friend or relative.

Your name will be prominently written on a plaque outside our in-house dog rotunda. If it is a gift, KAT will notify the person you specify of your donation. A dog may be sponsored by more than one person as well.

How It Works

Donate Nrs. 1,000 ($15) per month, per dog with the minimum commitment for three months or Nrs. 10,000 (USD 150) for one year.

Once you sponsor a dog:

• You will be contacted by KAT as soon as we receive your form and donation.

• We will frequently update you about the dog you sponsor. You are most welcome to email KAT's Communications Officer (katco@katcentre.org.np) anytime to know about the dog you are sponsoring.

• If your dog is adopted during the sponsorship period, you will be notified and you are then welcome to choose another dog to finish out your sponsorship period.

You may sponsor a dog with a one-time donation or have PayPal set up automatic monthly payments (subscriptions). You need to have a PayPal account for the automatic payments. You do not need a PayPal account to make a one-time donation with a credit card.
