  GET TO KNOW MANGO

We found Mango on the streets in March 2004, in a pitiful state. After much care and medical treatment, Mango made a full recovery and is today living proof of what can be achieved with compassion and determination.

Creating a Healthy Street Dog
Population in Kathmandu, Nepal

More than 20,000 dogs live on the streets of Kathmandu, Nepal, and many suffer from starvation, infected open sores, mange, and other injuries and illnesses.

The Kathmandu Animal Treatment Centre (KAT Centre) is a non-profit registered charitable organisation dedicated to improving the welfare of Nepal's animals. We are humanely creating a healthy, rabies-free, non-breeding street dog population in Kathmandu.

Our goal is to reduce the number of stray dogs in Nepal's Kathmandu Valley and eliminate rabies through:

        • Animal Birth Control (ABC) & Rabies Vaccinations
        • Public Education: Teaching compassion and rabies awareness
        • Rescue & Treatment: For sick and injured street dogs and cats, many of
whom are now available for adoption

HOW YOU CAN HELP
We rely on your support to treat the animals of Nepal. We are a 'no frills' organisation and your donation will go directly to treating Nepal's stray dogs, stray cats, and other animals in need, and educating the community about animal welfare and rabies prevention. In addition to donating, you can support the KAT Centre in many other ways.

Sponsor a kennel at the KAT Centre!
You can provide the food, medicine, shelter, and vet care to all the dogs who live in a kennel throughout the year. We will put your name on the kennel and send you updates about the dogs in it. This makes a great gift!
