Making it all possible

Start-up funding was received from our founder, Jan Salter, with further assistance from Board Members, our patron Charlotte Uhlenbroek, and other local supporters.

Invaluable advice and initial training was received from Help in Suffering who run a successful Animal Birth Control (ABC) programme in Jaipur and who continue to lend their support.

Hope Partnership Nepal
Hope Partnership Nepal supports a range of programmes helping women, children, and animals in Nepal. They have generously offered to enable U.S. residents to make tax-deductible donations to KAT.

The KAT Centre is an animal welfare organization helping dogs in Kathmandu, NepalMitrataa Foundation
Mitrataa implements a variety of projects that empower Nepali women and girls through education and training. They collaborate with the KAT Centre on the pioneering Pet Therapy Programme.

Brigitte Bardot Foundation
The Brigitte Bardot Foundation (Fondation Brigitte Bardot) supports the protection and welfare of wild and domestic animals. They have generously funded the purchase of veterinary supplies and medicine for the KAT Centre.

SNIP International
A charity in the UK that empowers animal welfare organizations throughout the world by contributing equipment for animal care and control and supporting training. SNIP International generously donated supplies to KAT for collecting and transporting dogs and cats.

Little Lotus Hearts
A Tibetan Buddhist Animal Welfare Group in America which sponsors Tara, a paraplegic dog who will live her entire life under the loving care of KAT's staff. Tara partipate's in our Pet Therapy Programme.

Animal SOS DenmarkAnimal SOS (Dyreklinikken Holger Danske)
An organisation in Denmark that supports projects to help stray animals in many countries. Led by veterinarians and vet nurses, Animal SOS has supported work in India, Spain, Thailand, Tanzania, Costa Rica, and other countries, in addition to funding the KAT Centre.

Kechara House
A Buddhist organization that operates a wide variety of compassionate programmes, including an animal sanctuary and animal welfare projects.

Elefair
Ele Walker's shop Elefair sells beautiful handmade items which she buys from Nepal at a fair price. A long-term supporter of the KAT Centre, Ele sponsors a kennel at KAT.

Kathmandu Arts Centre
A unique project to help contemporary Nepalese artists who have become isolated due to politics, geography and poverty.

Wetnose Animal Aid
A national campaign which raises money for animal welfare organisations.

Worldwide Veterinary Service
An animal charity which provides assistance to other animal welfare organisartions throughout the world.
